I believe today was even less interesting than yesterday if you can believe it. I didn’t have to get up early because I didn’t have class until the afternoon. And on top of that, my first class was cancelled for today. So I didn’t have to be into the city until 2:50. So I spent my morning slowly waking up, searching and applying for a few more internships for this coming summer. (I have since realized that February and March may become rather stressful because I will simply be waiting to hear back from any of the programs that I have applied for.) I then started to do some of my readings for the coming days. I have already reduced my reading to mere skimming. I think it will be better this way, but I will have to wait to see.
I then was sort of bored at home and anxious to get into the city for fear that for some reason my transportation commute may cause me delays. I did have one minor set back actually where one of the trains didn’t come for an extra ten minutes, but I still got to school with more than enough time for my class.
After class I simply waited around at DIS for a while working on a variety of things, including homework, applying for internships, and simply searching things on my computer. Then at about 7:00, I began to head over to a café dinner, which had been planned for my Danish class. There were a few of us waiting around school, so we all began to head over together. However once we arrived at that bus station I went to reach for my bus pass and that is when I realized that I had left my purse back at DIS. One of the guys I was with was kind enough to lend me his DIS ID so that I could get into the building. I pretty much ran back to school and was relieved to find that my purse was right where I left it. I then headed back to the bus station, meeting up with another group of students along the way.
Dinner was fun overall. It was relaxing and I simply got to talk to a few people in my class. We were able to get a drink as well as one of three sandwiches (the food was preordered for us, so we really didn’t have much of a choice). The food was fine though. The nice thing was that since not everyone from class attended, there were leftover meals that we could take home.
Once dinner was over, about 9, I headed back to the station with a group of students who were headed the same direction that I was. There was a little bit of confusion getting the train because they are working on construction on one of the lines, and so we had to figure out exactly what train to get on because my normal one wasn’t running. It wasn’t that difficult though because my train was still listed as the end of one of the lines. Also since I was out relatively late, once I got to the bus station in my town, I had to wait awhile for the bus. I did text my host parents to let them know, however it did get to be rather late. I will just call them next time to see if they can pick me up if the wait gets to late and long.
PS - I decided the last few posts had a lack of pictures, so here is one of my home in Denmark (I am on the second floor on the left side of the house - the slanted roof half. And a picture of my bus stop, which I have come to be rather fond of.)
